Cursor Key Control of Sine Testing
The VibeLab controller can be manually controlled in sine testing using the normal manual up, down, left and right arrow keys. An easier method of manual sine control is available for investigation of resonances or other pseudo-stationary sine testing by means of the keyboard cursor keys. With VibeLab's Run Sine Test screen showing, enable both the manual sweep and manual amplitude functions at the bottom of the display graph, and mouse click on the green "Arrow Keys" button in the lower right. It will illuminate and the cursor keys on the computer keyboard will control VibeLab's output signal. The Up and Down cursor (arrow) keys will control the signal amplitude while the right and left keys, the frequency. Of course, Up for more vibration, Down for less, Right arrow for higher frequency, Left arrow for lower frequency. Use caution when sweeping down manually, the shaker displacement will come up dramatically below 50 Hz when the signal amplitude is held constant! Also, watch the system level meter to avoid overdriving the shaker system.

AutoFit
Did you know... That if you hold down the shift key when you click the GRAPH button, Vibelab will automatically size the applicable graph to fit the programmed response? It is the same as clicking the GRAPH button followed by clicking on the Graph menu AUTO button, but saves the extra mouse click. This is particularly useful for re-centering your data after you have changed the programmed spectrum or sine sweep breakpoints. Saving the Program, Test or Preferences, will insure that the new graph settings will be automatically recalled the next time the program is referenced.

Pointer Help
Want some quick help remembering the functions of the various VibeLab controls? Try enabling the POINTER HELP under the HELP menu button on any VibeLab screen. A pause over any control will result in a brief description of the various functions of that control. A little like "Balloon Help" but we think a little more helpful. Hitting the (?) button and then the control in question will give even more info about the control.

Meter Panel
Don't forget that a simple click anywhere on the meter panel of the Run screens will toggle the meter between the Control channel display and the Individual channel display showing the overall levels for all of the channels simultaneously.
